About the release

It's a song about reconnecting with the passion we had when we were younger.

‘Echoes’ is the second single from Frederik Wessberg’s forthcoming debut album ‘Change’. The song is about reconnecting with the passion we had when we were younger, and finding inspiration and beauty in the small things in our lives. This emotional theme is backed by an arrangement that combines many genres and moods, keeping the listener on their toes and glued to their speakers. The song has been refined over years by Wessberg, who wrote, recorded, mixed and mastered it from his own recording studio. In addition, there are musical contributions from Lis Wessberg, who lifts the arrangement with her warm, expressive Trombone parts. While this marks Frederik Wessberg's second single release as a solo artist, he is not new to the Danish music scene. Son of two jazz musicians who lived by their craft, Wessberg was raised in the industry. At the age of just 17, he earned airplay on DR P4, the biggest radio station in Denmark for his original song ‘What You’ve Never Seen’, written for his band Searing Solace, who followed up by a music video and a full release of their debut album 'Time of Transition' two years later in 2011, when Wessberg was 19 years old. He built a following on YouTube and SoundCloud on a mix of cover songs and original compositions, gaining over a thousand subscribers and over a million views/plays. Working professionally as a producer, mixer, and audio engineer, both live and in the studio, Wessberg is also credited on many releases over the 2010s across primarily Copenhagen-based upcoming artists, eventually also becoming a member of one of them, Overmoon, with which he co-wrote and released their debut album in 2015, which also earned airplay on DR P3 and DR P6 Beat, two other large radio stations in Denmark. ‘Echoes’ is scheduled for release on streaming services and YouTube on May 15 2026, along with a music video.

About Frederik Wessberg

Frederik Wessberg Frederik Wessberg(he/him)

Frederik Wessberg first entered the Danish music scene at a young age, writing and releasing a mix of covers and original compositions on MySpace and YouTube, and later fronting the Copenhagen based Pop/Rock band Searing Solace, on guitars and vocals. Son of two jazz musicians who lived by their craft, Wessberg was raised in the industry. Growing up in a home full of instruments, Wessberg became a multi-instrumentalist from a young age. In 2009, at the age of just 17, he earned airplay on the biggest radio station in Denmark, DR P4, with Searing Solace’s ‘What You’ve Never Seen’, a song he wrote, recorded, mixed, and self-distributed from his bedroom a year prior. Wessberg and the band released an ambitious music video in 2010 for their next single release ‘It’s Not Over’, followed by their debut album ‘Time of Transition’ in 2011, an album the band produced, mixed, and released themselves, while Wessberg was just 19 years old. Editor in Chief Petteri Pertola for Rockfreaks wrote “(...) they have nailed the art of writing a memorable pop chorus (...) they could start rising up the Danish ranks quickly, especially given the radio potential that many of their songs carry.” in his review of their debut album, validating the band’s knack for writing a radio friendly, catchy pop chorus. Wessberg quickly realized his passion for the technical side of music making, and established a recording studio in 2009 alongside his friends and fellow band members from Searing Solace in parallel with his school studies. Here, he practiced and honed his skills recording and mixing for other Danish upcoming artists, in parallel with writing original songs for Searing Solace. This eventually evolved into building a larger recording studio with room for professional recordings, which was used both as the creative hub and practice room for Searing Solace, as well as a recording studio for Wessberg to earn a wage as a professional audio engineer and mixer, working for many Danish upcoming bands. Eventually, he became a key member of one of them, Overmoon, with which he also co-wrote and released their debut album in 2015, which earned airplay on DR P3 and DR P6 Beat, two other large radio stations in Denmark. While Wessberg primarily released music through his bands Searing Solace and Overmoon, he also continued releasing cover songs and original compositions on platforms like YouTube and SoundCloud, and built up a following of over 1300 subscribers and gaining over 1 million plays in total. Having started young and achieving a lot of his musical dreams and ambitions early on, Wessberg decided to take a break for a while, only to return back to the scene reinvigorated in 2026, eager to reclaim the stages with a brand new album ‘Change’, scheduled for release the same year.

- Established a presence in the Danish music scene as the frontman for Searing Solace (debut album released in 2011) and a key member of Overmoon (debut album released in 2015). - Had airplay on some of the largest Danish radio stations, including DR P3, DR P4 and DR P6 Beat - Released popular cover songs on YouTube and Soundcloud, with a total of over 1 million streams. - Produced, Recorded, and mixed singles, EPs, and albums for numerous upcoming bands in the Copenhagen area throughout the years, helping bring up new talent to the scene.

I
Now what have I done?
And when did I lose myself
For years to come?
And I
I used to have fun
But now it’s like a ghost
That haunts my memories, one by one
Oh
It’s a race against the rhythm of my heartbeat
Backseat, hidden in the echoes of beautiful sounds
Waiting to be found
I’ll travel back into all the moments that shaped
The person I came to be when it escaped
Against the rhythm of my heartbeat
Against the echoes of beautiful sounds
Against the rhythm of my heartbeat
Against the echoes of beautiful sounds
I
I hear it in the rain
I hear it in the laughter of
My children playing
Oh
It’s like an omen
Uniting old and new
The story that I left behind
Is here in my field of view
Yeah
It’s a race against the rhythm of my heartbeat
Backseat, hidden in the echoes of beautiful sounds
Waiting to be found
I’ll travel back into all the moments that shaped
The person I came to be when it escaped
There’s a fire building up in me
And although it leaves
Burns of the third degree
It will be my remedy
’Cause I’m a dreamer in a race with time
For my storyline
I must never fall behind
Yeah
It’s a race against the rhythm of my heartbeat
Backseat, hidden in the echoes of beautiful sounds
Waiting to be found
I’ll travel back into all the moments that shaped
The person I came to be when it escaped
The race against the rhythm of my heartbeat
So sweet, how it feels entwined with the fibers of me
Now I’m starting to see
After traveling back into
All the things that shaped
The person I came to be when it escaped
Against the rhythm of my heartbeat
Against the echoes of beautiful sounds
Against the rhythm of my heartbeat
Against the echoes of beautiful sounds
